To prevent catalytic converter theft, starZship purchased and installs the CatClamp. Theft of car and truck catalytic converters are epidemic. Many trucks like 4runner, Tahoe, F100, SUVs etc are higher off the ground than cars. This makes it very easy for thieves with powerful battery-powered handheld saws to quickly cut off the catalytic converter from the vehicle as fast as a few minutes. Crowded parking lots are usually the place where most thefts occur. The thieves will play loud music or use other distractions to cover the noise of the saw cutting the exhaust pipes. The emissions control device is sold for their precious metals such as platinum. Sold to scrap metal dealers for as much as $200 each. This device is to slow down or discourage theft. The vehicle cannot be driven after the catalytic converter is removed, unless you want to drive with a very LOUD muffler. Tow, repair & rental car= $$$. There is another product called "CatCUFF" for $69.95 but several YouTube videos show this as an inferior product and the cables can be cut like butter.
